Anna to Represent Australia Print E-mail

Queensland's top ranked elite female orienteer, Anna Sheldon (UG), has been selected in the Australian team to contest this year's World Championships, being held in Norway from 8 - 15 August.

Anna was one of  6 women and 4 men whose selection was announced this week by Orienteering Australia. The team selection followed the trials held in NSW on  15 and 16 May where Anna gained a  6th placing in the Sprint event at Macquarie University, a 3rd in the Middle  Distance race at Hillgrove and a  4th in the Long race in the Belangalo State Forest.

The full team is:
Women: Shannon Jones (ACT), Grace Elson (TAS), Jasmine Neve (VIC), Anna Sheldon (QLD), Vanessa Round (SA) and Kathryn Ewels (VIC)
Men: Julian Dent (NSW), Dave Shepherd (ACT), Simon Uppill (SA) and Rob Preston (NSW)

Anna has been selected to compete in the long distance race at the World Championships.

She is also part of the 12 person Bushrangers team that will be competing against the New Zealand Pinestars in New Zealand on their Queens Birthday long weekend on 5 - 7 June.
